Water Quality
The Utility routinely monitors the Village’s drinking water according to Federal and State regulations. Our constant goal is to provide you with a safe and dependable supply of drinking water. We want you to understand the efforts we make to continually improve the water treatment process and protect our water resources. We are committed to ensuring the quality of your water.
Slinger's water hardness is typically between 26-30 grains of hardness.

Bulk Water
The Wastewater Treatment Facility offers a bulk water service where companies can fill up their tanks or trucks with water. Anyone looking to use this service can contact the Utilities Superintendent, Greg Moser, at gmoser@vi.slinger.wi.gov. For additional information on the rates, click here.
Sprinkler Meters...Save Money and Help the Environment!
For those who water their garden a lot, it may be beneficial to have an additional meter rental charge. These are typically known as sprinkler meters and once installed, any water going through this meter will not receive any sewer charges. In addition to saving on the sewer charges, you will also be cutting down on the amount of water that needs to be softened. This saves you money on salt and cuts down on the number of times a softener has to recharge. Less salty water going down the floor drains is less salt that ends up in the environment and our lakes and streams! Click here to view the rates under schedule AM-1. For more details on how to get this process started, please contact the Utilities Superintendent, Greg Moser, at gmoser@vi.slinger.wi.gov.
Hydrocorp - Cross Control Inspection
The Water Utility is required to conduct cross connection inspections under Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Code 810.15. This regulation states, "In order to protect the public water supply system, the water supplier for every municipal water system shall develop and implement a comprehensive cross connection control program for the elimination of all existing unprotected cross connections and prevention of all future unprotected cross connections...". The Utility is also required to make sure all connections to its system are in compliance with State Plumbing Code SPS 382.41. Hydrocorp is the company that was selected in 2008 to operate the Water Utility's cross connection control program. Hydrocorp does this on a rotating schedule with every resident and business in the Village. Once you receive an inspection notice, please call the number on the letter to schedule this inspection. When Hydrocorp arrives to do the inspection, the inspector may look at larger plumbing connections, such as outdoor hose attachments or garage wash sinks.
***Cross Connection is a link or channel that could possibly connect a source of pollution with a potable water supply. An example of this is a garden house submerged in a bucket of detergent, or a water softener hose that is connected directly to a floor drain.
Slinger's Badger Smart Water Meters
A smart water meter is an advanced metering infrastructure with an easy-to-read, high-resolution LCD display with data and alarms you are able to view and track using the EyeOnWater website and app.
As opposed to conventional read only meter in which users get the information on water usage months after the events occurred, a smart metering system can provide real-time water consumption. It provides continuous and historical data, while improving system intelligence, visibility, automation, and control to help water utilities optimize all areas of their water network.
