Public Safety Cadet Unit - 1869

PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

Public Safety Cadets are an organization dedicated to mentoring area youth, ages 14 – 20 (up to their 21st Birthday) about careers and leadership in Public Safety professions.  Core values include fair and impartial public safety service to all, community engagement, and preparing the next generation of public safety professionals through development programs with an emphasis on “servant leadership.”

A Public Safety Cadet Unit regularly participates in meetings geared towards training to learn about topics and scenarios police officers handle on a daily basis.  Slinger Cadet Unit – 1869 will also participate in volunteer opportunities around the Slinger community, partake in ride-alongs with officers, and advance into leadership positions within the Cadet Unit – holding ranks such as Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain.  Applications are now available on the Village Website or at the police department.

Cadets will participate in competitions to showcase their development and increasing knowledge through the various trainings they attend with Slinger Police Officer mentors.
