Harter's Lakeside Disposal

As of July 1, 2023, the Village of Slinger has a contract with Harter's for garbage and recycling pickup. Garbage is picked up every week, while the recycling is every other week.

Scheduled Pick-Up Day

Wednesday - Residence is located west of Hwy 175.

Thursday - Residence is located east of Hwy 175.

Please note: All garbage and recycling cans must be placed curbside prior to 7AM, not in the street.

 All commercial buildings and multi-family residents of 4 units or more must make their own garbage arrangements unless the building is grandfathered on the Village contract with Harter's.

Bulky/Large Item Service

With the Village's contract, Harter's provides a service for residents to call in to schedule a large item pickup and prepay for the scheduled pick up. The resident is responsible for all costs regarding a bulky/large item pickup. These items are to be landfillable items such as a couch, chair, table etc. The cost is $35.00 per item and discount for multiple items.  For Freon appliances and electronics, the cost is $60.00 per item.

Free Electronics Recycling Event

Saturday, July 18th, 2026 from 8:00am to 12:00pm

This event is open to everyone, not only residents.

Got some old not in use electronics collecting dust? Why not give them a new life!

The Village of Slinger and COM2 Recycling Solutions are hosting a FREE Electronic recycling event on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 8:00am to 12:00pm at the parking lot on the corner of Slinger Road and Polk St. COM2 will be accepting computers, laptops, printers, keyboards, mice, fax machine, phones, TVs, tablets, gaming consoles, DVD players, VCRs, microwaves, and much more!

NOTE: Any hazardous materials will NOT be accepted!

This includes: 

  • Batteries
  • Paint
  • Medical Waste
  • Freon containing items (refrigerators, air conditioners)
  • Radioactive Materials
